Firstly, we would like to thank all our families for continuing loyalty to Orde Day Care during our relocation to 33 Robert St this summer. We know the transition, commute, and navigating the building have posed some problems, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

We also like to recognize our fantastic staff and children, who are making the best of the limited-out door space, new program rooms and catered lunches, not to mention the warm indoor temperatures during the humid summer days.

We have contacted Maureen Beckett, Project Manager of the construction at the Orde Site. She has communicated that she is unsure if we will be able to get back into the building before September 6, 2022. If this is the case, we wanted to provide as much notice as possible that the daycare may be closed on September 6 (Orde location only) for all programs so that staff can safely move back into the school and set up the environments for the children’s return on September 7, 2022.

We will confirm our plans by August 14, 2022, at which point we will have a better idea of our ability to get back to the Orde location before September 6, 2022.


If we do not open on September 6, 2022, Orde Day Care will reimburse fees for this day.

Please note that menus for the next three weeks we emailed to families on the families@ordedaycare.org email distribution list. Morning and afternoon snacks as well as bagged lunches will continue to be prepared on site, The hot lunch will be catered. If you child develops a food restriction or allergy during this time, please provide us as much notice as possible, so we can inform our caterer

We will be using the Main entrance of the school on Robert St. Please see attached floor plan and google link

The school has a security system which means that the doors to the school are locked. We are only using the Robert St entrance for Orde Day Care parents. Please be mindful of this entrance, as there is another program located in the school using a separate entrance.

We will be allowing parents into the school building to bring your child to their classroom and pick them up in the evening.

Our hours of operation will be 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. starting July 4. 2022

A staff will be stationed at the door to direct you to your child’s program for the first week to familiarize you with the route to your child’s classroom from 7:30-10:00 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m.

If you come outside of these times please call the daycare number which will be posted on the entrance door.

Please allow this extra time for the morning drop and evening pick up to bring/pick up your child directly from the classroom.

We will be moving to buzzing families into the school the second week within the same time period of 7:30-10:00 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m. If you come outside of those time to drop off or pick up your child you will have to call the daycare directly @ 416 598 3412 for a staff to let you into the building.

Drop off and pick up for families arriving by car will be off Spadina Ave as designated by the City of Toronto, Parking Authority.
