Have Fun and Stay Safe
October 29th, 2010 by Anna Gionet No comments »
Happy Halloween!
Halloween has its roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints’ Day, but is today largely a secular celebration and fun time of the year when we all get to dress up and have fun with our friends and community.
There a many activities planed for this “all hallows” weekend around the city. Check out your local libraries and community centres which will all have great, fun activities planned for our kids.
Whatever your plans are we wish all of our friends a happy and safe Halloween. Enjoy all the festivities: costume parties, parades and of course, the main event on Sunday!
Health Canada has some great tips for staying safe on Halloween
Finally, if you are going to be giving out treats at your door on Sunday, consider safe treats, which may include non-food items such as stickers, pencils, small toys or coins. This will make Halloween less scary for those with severe food allergies.
