The TDSB has closed all childcare centres located in their facilities on Monday, December 23 and as well on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Therefore Orde Daycare and Orde Satellite will not be open today or tomorrow. Damage due to the ice storm and power outages continues to be a concern. December 19th, 2013 by solfdez No comments »Thank you to all the children and of course, the Orde Day Care staff
for a wonderful Holiday concert last night.
The performances by our preschool to 10+ students were wonderful and everyone did so well!
There was a great turn out and a magical feeling filled the room with lots of excited and happy faces and lots of warmth. What a great way to kick off the season.
Thank you again for all the hard work and best wishes to our entire Orde community for 2014!
have a safe and happy holiday season.
Child Care Worker and ECE Appreciation Day
October 30th, 2013 by solfdez No comments »On this Child Care Worker and ECE Appreciation Day we once again would like to thank our dedicated team at Orde Day Care for their commitment and valuable work with our kids.
On this day we pay tribute to the skills, dedication, education and extraordinary commitment of our early childhood educators and all staff at Orde Day Care and Orde Day Care Satellite!
There is no job more important than yours,
no job anywhere else in the land.
Your are the keepers of the future:
you hold the smallest of hands.
Into your care you are trusted
to nurture and care for the young,
and for all of your everyday heroics,
your talents and skills go unsung.
You wipe tears from the eyes of the injured.
You rock babies brand new in your arms.
You encourage the shy and unsure child.
You make sure they are safe from all harm.
You foster the bonds of friendships,
letting no child go away mad.
You respect and you honor their emotions.
You give hugs to each child when they’re sad.
You have more impact than does a professor,
a child’s mind is molded by four;
so whatever you lay on the table
is whatever that child will explore.
Give each child the tools for adventure,
let them be artists and writers and more;
let them fly in the wind and dance on the stars
and build castles of sand on the shore.
It is true that you don’t make much money
and you don’t get a whole lot of praise,
but when one small child says, “I love you,”
you’re reminded of how this job pays.
