Please note that menus for the next three weeks we emailed to families on the families@ordedaycare.org email distribution list. Morning and afternoon snacks as well as bagged lunches will continue to be prepared on site, The hot lunch will be catered. If you child develops a food restriction or allergy during this time, please provide us as much notice as possible, so we can inform our caterer

We will be using the Main entrance of the school on Robert St. Please see attached floor plan and google link

The school has a security system which means that the doors to the school are locked. We are only using the Robert St entrance for Orde Day Care parents. Please be mindful of this entrance, as there is another program located in the school using a separate entrance.
We will be allowing parents into the school building to bring your child to their classroom and pick them up in the evening.
Our hours of operation will be 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. starting July 4. 2022
A staff will be stationed at the door to direct you to your child’s program for the first week to familiarize you with the route to your child’s classroom from 7:30-10:00 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m.
If you come outside of these times please call the daycare number which will be posted on the entrance door.
Please allow this extra time for the morning drop and evening pick up to bring/pick up your child directly from the classroom.
We will be moving to buzzing families into the school the second week within the same time period of 7:30-10:00 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m. If you come outside of those time to drop off or pick up your child you will have to call the daycare directly @ 416 598 3412 for a staff to let you into the building.
Drop off and pick up for families arriving by car will be off Spadina Ave as designated by the City of Toronto, Parking Authority.
If you should have any additional questions, I will be returning emails between 9:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2022.

UPDATE ON RELOCATION SITE INFORMATION FOR JULY 4, 2022

We received a number of questions regarding the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care program email that was sent out on June 24, 2022.
The Board of Directors reservation for not in opting immediately is due in large part to the significant number of unknowns that are left undefined by the
Province throughout the CWELCC contract. Language such as reasonableness,or fair market are being used with no concrete or definitive numbers or
caps provided for salaries or expenses. With fees frozen at March 2022 levels,our ability to meet any expenses deemed unreasonable for 2023 would be difficult.
As a non for profit, unionized centre we must ensure financial viability of our business as well as commitment to salaries and benefits through our
negotiated collective agreements. The Board must balance this while ensuring fees are competitive and quality care is maintained for our families.

Update on Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Program
June 23rd, 2022Dear Families and Staff of Orde Day Care and Orde Satellite;
On June 22, 2022, the Treasurer, of Orde Day Care and myself participated in an information session presented by Toronto Children Services, regarding the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care program. The information that was provided through this session has been shared with our Board of Directors to allow them to make an informed decision as to whether Orde Day Care Centre will opt into the program for 2022.
If the decision is made to opt in, Orde Day Care and Orde Satellite will be required to apply to Toronto Children Services for approval. Once the approval is granted, the city would begin to provide funding to reimburse fees. Upon receipt of this funding the centre would then begin to offer refunds to parents retroactive to April 1, 2022 for children who are under the age of 6 as of June 30, 2022.
We would like to thank you for your continued patience and loyalty to Orde Day Care as we navigate through this new program and it nuances. Once a decision is made by the Board of Directors to opt in or not we will communicate this the families and staff.
