{"id":839,"date":"2011-09-29T14:48:45","date_gmt":"2011-09-29T19:48:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ordedaycare.org\/?p=839"},"modified":"2022-12-27T14:19:16","modified_gmt":"2022-12-27T19:19:16","slug":"new-serious-occurence-posting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.ordedaycare.org\/?p=839","title":{"rendered":"*New* Serious Occurence Posting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>September 29, 2011<\/p>\n<p>Dear Families,<\/p>\n<p>It has been standard practice for licensed child care centres to call in a report of a <strong>Serious<em> Occurrence<\/em><\/strong> to the Ministry of Community, Children and Youth Services within 24hrs followed by a written report within 7 days. Orde Day Care informs all persons involved as well as the Board of Directors; a copy of the report is kept on file and all reports are reviewed annually.<\/p>\n<p>As a measure to increase awareness and transparency the Ministry of Children and Youth Services has now directed us to <strong><em>post<\/em><\/strong> all <strong><em>Serious Occurrences<\/em><\/strong> that involve children, staff or the centre. This information will be shared through a standardized posting beginning <strong>November 1, 2011<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><em>Serious Occurrence<\/em><\/strong> posting will be found outside the daycare office at both sites.<\/li>\n<li>The information shared will state the type of incident which has occurred according to standard definitions (see attached sheet).<\/li>\n<li>There will be NO identifying information of children, program or staff.<\/li>\n<li>This posting will be made available within 24 hours of the occurrence and remain posted for 10 business days.\u00a0 The exception will be in the case of allegations of abuse; these will only be posted once the outcome of an investigation has been undertaken by the Children\u2019s Aid Society and\/or centre or appropriate authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any questions please feel free to speak with one of the supervisors.<\/p>\n<p>Yours truly,<\/p>\n<p>Sue Johnston,<br \/>\nCoordinator<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Serious Occurence\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ordedaycare.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/SO-Policy-revised15dec20.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Serious Occurrence Defined<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 29, 2011 Dear Families, It has been standard practice for licensed child care centres to call in a report of a Serious Occurrence to the Ministry of Community, Children and Youth Services within 24hrs followed by a written report within 7 days.
