Child care advocates and women\u2019s groups have a message for the government: Canada urgently needs a public system of early childhood education and care.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCancelling the national child care program has put a huge burden on low, modest and middle income families,\u201d said Sue Delanoy of the <a title=\"Organizing for a comprehensive system of accessible, affordable, quality non-profit child care\" href=\"http:\/\/childcareadvocacy.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada<\/a>. \u201cMr. Harper claims he\u2019s delivered \u2018choice in child care\u2019 but the facts show that for most families, the options are severely limited.
